Liam Smith (1962-2010)
Liam Smith was a person with a big heart. He was a loving and caring person. Throughout his life, he served as a son, a brother, a friend, a significant other, and an advocate. He was a great inspiration to many. Through various fundraisers and charities, Liam made a difference in this world. A difference that not only benefitted the quality of life of people but of animals as well.
He had a charisma about him that radiated! His laughter and smiles forever embedded in those of us who knew him.
His biggest social circle was through cycling! He was involved in many events and organizations including Shifting Gears, California AIDS Ride, AIDS Lifecycle, and Camp Laurel, to name a few. Liam had a great network of friends through these channels. Friends that shared the cold weather of Alaska, the hugs and kisses of children living with HIV/AIDS, and the everlasting beauty of California's coast.
Although Liam is no longer with us, he is not forgotten. The impact of his being will live on through us. Please join Shifting Gears Cycling club in memorializing Liam on Saturday, July 24th.
