The 2008 Santa Barbara Ride is dedicated to the memory of Drew Franklin: to his passion, his laughter, his strength, his pain, and the inspiration he provided to continue fighting the disease that took such a remarkable individual from us much too soon. Please read about Drew by clicking HERE.
Level: Advanced, 2 Days, 200 Miles
Description: This is a fully supported ride from Santa Monica to Santa Barbara and back. “One of the most scenic and well produced rides.”
Price includes: Sweep vehicles, Professional Mechanics, Massage and Sports Medicine Teams, Saturday night hotel accommodation*, Breakfast, Lunch, and fully supplied Pit Stops. All participants also receive Goody Bags!
*Please note that accommodation is shared. Two to four people per room. Two people per bed!

Information Packages:
You will receive your confirmation from Shifting Gears and information about the ride via e-mail. Included will be information about the ride and the waiver.
Pre-Ride Meeting:
Meet: 7:00pm Thursday April 17, 2008 at Helen’s Cycles in Santa Monica, 2501 Broadway (at 26th St) Map
At the meeting, you will receive information about the ride, including where and when to meet on April 26th; the route; what to bring and how to pack; and where you will be staying. We will go over safety and what will be provided/available to you on the ride. You will also meet the ride leaders and volunteers, and have the opportunity to ask questions. Parking instructions will also be discussed for the morning of the 26th. All this information will also be passed out in a hand-out at the meeting. It is highly recommended that you save the date for this meeting. You will meet your fellow riders and receive all of the info on the Santa Barbara Ride. Pizza and beverages will be offered.
Cancellation/Refund Policy:
Refund requests must be received on or before Monday April 14th, 2008. All cancellations/refunds will incur a $25 processing fee. Absolutely no refunds for any reason, medical or otherwise, will be issued after April 14th, 2008. The ride will be held rain or shine.
Transfers:
If you must cancel after April 14th, 2008, you may locate a substitute rider and submit his/her registration application and a $25 transfer fee. You must call 310.401.3051 to make arrangements and receive confirmation to substitute a ride.
